Community Sewing Day
Library – Sunday, April 22 – 10:00AM – 5:00 PM
Sewers, quilters, crafty people… we need your help!
Convert the 41 Gustavus 4th of July T-shirts
(dating back to 1976) into individual mini quilts.
Questions? Contact Ellie 697-2304 email@example.com
Our purpose is to preserve the artwork from each shirt, and turn each one into a tiny quilt. These finished quiltlets will all be strung together on a line (similar to prayer flags) and displayed at future Gustavus community events.
Everybody is welcome. Come and learn. There are many jobs including designing, ironing, cutting, machine sewing, and hand sewing. Come choose your favorite old T-shirt design, add borders and binding to complete the quiltlet.
Bring sewing machines, fabric, sewing supplies, food to share (potluck lunch), and enthusiasm for a great community project.
